Quarter.

— The Pearl of Damascus · لؤلؤة دمشق —

A 182-hectare ultra-luxury quarter on the corridor's southern ridge at 1,065 metres — the highest of the six. Nacre-shell arrival gateway, courtyard villas, mother-of-pearl ateliers, a domed cultural anchor, and a hammam wellness district set in the corridor's most extensive olive groves.

01The Place

A single pearl,
set in olive.

Twenty-six kilometres west of Damascus, at the south-western lip of the corridor, the road leaves the corridor BRT and rises through olive groves to 1,065 metres. The hills draw a slow horizon, the air thins by a degree, and the country opens onto a parametric arch of mother-of-pearl: two iridescent wings of stone and nacre joined by a small oval plaque — The Pearl of Damascus — over a road bracketed by reflecting water.

This is the signature. Durra — درّة — the single, precious pearl of classical Arabic poetry. Not heritage replication; heritage in dialogue with parametric geometry. Courtyards on the old Damascene grain, but built on a curved cell network that lets every block face a garden, a fountain, or a grove.

The site is the corridor's highest. The clearest light. The longest sightlines. Reserved as the flagship address — the place a buyer is shown last because nothing follows it.

02The Vision

The flagship
that holds
the corridor's name.

Durra is the corridor's signature — the address that carries the brand outward. Where the other five quarters speak to a public, this one speaks to the world: ultra-luxury courtyard villas, mother-of-pearl ateliers, brocade workshops, a Damascene-room museum, a hammam wellness district, and a signature cultural anchor under a parametric tile dome. Every craft register of historic Damascus — nacre, walnut inlay, brocade, brass, marble, basalt, star-pattern ceilings — is set into a contemporary parametric language.

The fabric is denser per garden than Dimashq, more cultivated than Bustan, more iconic than any other community on the corridor. Every villa has a fountain court. Every cell has a grove. Every grove gives onto a water channel. The water spine — a 1.4 km reflecting pool ribbon — runs the long axis from gateway to the cultural anchor, the way Souks Hamidiyeh and Midhat Pasha once threaded the old city.

The arch at the entrance doesn't read "luxury residential". It reads "The Pearl of Damascus" — and that is the position: the corridor's most precious singular thing.

03The Plan

A pearl, sliced into six.
Use-mix on a curved cell network.

Durra is the only community on the corridor with a parametric curved-cell footprint rather than a rectilinear grid. Six use-types lock together on a single pearl-shape plate — residential villa cells, cultural core, hammam district, retail souk, public parks and groves, and the water spine.

05A Day in the Quarter

Hammam at 06:30.
Cultural Centre at noon.
Souk at sundown.

The signature day belongs to the resident — but it is open to the corridor. Visitors arrive through the arch by appointment; residents have keys to every plaza, every grove, every atelier. The day is paced by water, light, and craft.

Morning at the triple-dome hammam, lavender garden and water channel
06:30 · Morning

The hammam.

The hammam opens before sunrise to the resident hours — the corridor's only properly-built classical hammam, three domes, basalt floor, marble plunge. The lavender garden is in bloom from March; the water channel runs cold from the spring. At seven the visitor hours begin, and the souk wakes a few hundred metres east.

Midday at the cultural centre, parametric tile dome and stone arches
12:30 · Midday

The cultural centre.

The cultural centre's parametric tile dome — three thousand individually-glazed hexagons — anchors the civic cross-axis. Below the dome: the Damascus-room museum, the brocade atelier, the recital hall. The plaza outside carries the lunch trade from the souk; the fountain is at the geometric centre of the quarter.

Sunset on the artisan souk promenade, lanterns coming on
18:40 · Evening

The souk.

The artisan souk reopens after maghrib. Mother-of-pearl ateliers, brocade workshops, the Aleppo soap house, the olive-oil tasting room, the calligraphy stall. The boutique hotel courtyard hosts the evening concert from the recital hall. At nine the lanterns hand the quarter to the resident hours again.
